Plum-flavored tea in a plum-colored mug
It's funny the way that the smallest, most trivial moments can give one's spirit a lift. While few will debate the comfort a warm drink can provide on a cold day, fewer will debate the fact that it is a quotidian comfort. Thus, it seems strange that something as banal as a cup of tea should have made my day so much better. But, there is it. While sitting in my sister's comfortable armchair and editing the worst-written English document I've ever read, I repeatedly look over at my mug and smile. It is not the tea, per se, that is making me happy. It's the way that the flavors and shades of the tea are complementing the mug holding it. It's the fact that harmony and concord can be found everywhere. And, more than that, it's the reminder that something as random as plum tea left over from the holiday season can evoke thoughts of Tchaikovsky and a world full of dancing.
